InSite Technical Services

Origins

The business was established when the founders - all experienced refinery engineers and managers - recognised a gap in the market to deliver high quality engineering and consultancy to energy businesses based around the Milford Haven waterway. As a result, skills which might otherwise been lost from the area were retained and InSite has recruited new talent and forged alliances with engineers returning to the area who have previously worked in LNG, refining, upstream and power distribution.

Success Factor

The leadership team’s experience of being the client “inside the fence” gives them a different perspective from competitors. They often say, “We were in your position. We understand your needs” and repeat business has developed naturally as successful projects generate returning clients. InSite has demonstrated they work to schedule, delivering projects which are safe to construct, operate and maintain. Their determination to overcome obstacles, to find solutions and their commitment to clients’ projects have become unique selling points. The focus on quality and experience in recruitment has created a talented and experienced workforce and with a passion in developing the engineers of the future, the company provides opportunities to increase skills by offering specific technical and business training. At InSite, employee welfare is fundamental, and a healthy work-life balance is encouraged.

The Future

InSite is working to establish close relationships with other operating sites in the UK and overseas and is working hard to secure its first order in the nuclear industry as it has recognised that many of the services and skills available are easily transferred to that sector. InSite has also considered several possible acquisitions and are pursuing them alongside organic growth.
