Princes Gate Cool Water

Recognising that a market was developing in the UK for water coolers, the company was established in 2001 to service this need. Initially growing from one man and a man to a company that now has over sixteen vehicles and delivering out of two depots in Narberth, West Wales and just off the M4 in Margam.

Our main challenges when starting the business

The major challenges faced in the first three years were cash flow and managing the rate at which the business was growing, but this was managed through shareholder funding of business development and a DTI loan.

Success Factor

Good customer care has always been a priority, offering a more flexible and regular service to clients as compared to competitors has helped the company both to hold onto and increase its customer base. Where possible, the company has always tried to use British built coolers and vehicles, as there is a strong belief in supporting British business. The company always looks to make use of the services many of its customers and is pleased to have mutual business relationships with many of customers also being suppliers. The acquisition of competitors has further enabled the company to maintain its position as the number one independent water cooler provider in Wales.

The Future

Whilst continued growth is anticipated, the business will increasingly benefit from greater efficiency in the coming years. Whilst the company aims to deliver improved profitability through optimisation on current operations, expanding its product range into new markets and areas will still play a significant part in future growth.
