Origins

The founders believed there was an opportunity to develop a range of new IT Services that could support growing local businesses in Wales and ultimately be expanded internationally. During the past three years, many companies had become inward focussed and been reluctant to try new service models. However, this is now changing with a growing acceptance of managed and hosted services as a means to improving the overall effectiveness of their investment in IT.

Our main challenges when starting the business

Maintaining investment in resources and staff to enable the company to meet the economic upturn has been a significant challenge but M7 is now seeing an increase in new projects both in Wales and within international markets.

Success Factor

The three main success factors are the company’s IBM UK Business Partnership, partnering with independent software vendors to deliver International Solutions, and the efforts of staff during a very difficult economic climate.

The Future

In the future, the business aims to grow both the range of managed services offered and customers for these services, as well as increasing its contribution to the local economy through initiatives such as the Software Alliance Wales. It also aims to challenge the traditional IT service delivery models by innovating with customers and partners, and expanding the international coverage by working with IBM.
