IntaPeople was established in Cardiff in September 1994 with the purpose of providing a quality IT recruitment consultancy to clients throughout Wales and the West. It has since grown to become the largest privately owned IT, technical, engineering and legal recruitment consultancy in Wales. The business was started by two IT/Engineering professionals who were working overseas but had a desire to return to Wales and recognised that, at the time, there were no specialist Welsh IT and Engineering recruitment companies in operation. IntaPeople was then started with the aim of helping Wales-based IT and engineering professionals remain in Wales, while also allowing those working abroad to return to their home country. By providing job seekers with a range of exciting opportunities, and clients with first-rate staff, IntaPeople soon established itself as a highly dependable recruitment specialist within Wales.

Our main challenges when starting the business

The company did face some initial challenges during its first three years, and had to combat general scepticism surrounding the recruitment industry. However, after reassuring companies over the high level of service that they would receive, and by subsequently placing some outstanding candidates with them, IntaPeople soon won over many of the early doubters. IntaPeople continues to demonstrate its unique value to a wide range of firms and has expanded its reach significantly across Wales, the UK and Europe.

A key factor that has contributed to IntaPeople’s fast growth has undoubtedly been its honest and open approach. The company is always realistic when agreeing timescales and accepting vacancies, which can be a real breath of fresh air for clients. IntaPeople’s continuous investment in its staff has also helped to make the business what it is today. In addition to recruiting consultants with specific areas of expertise, it has invested a huge amount of time and money to ensure that employees operate an ethical and efficient recruitment process. Finally, the company’s constantly updated candidate database has provided an excellent platform for success. Carefully assembled and maintained through a combination of targeted advertising, referrals and networking, IntaPeople has been able to offer its clients exceptional, hard-to-reach candidates.

The Future

IntaPeople’s future plans for the business are to further expand its services throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East to reach £10m turnover by 2014/2015. IntaPeople aims to achieve its objectives through continuous investment in the latest communication and contact management technologies, in addition to ongoing staff training. The company also plans to introduce an IntaPeople Training Academy to create more structure around the roles of consultants and offer them a clearer opportunity to grow within the business. Some specific IT projects scheduled include an e-mail server upgrade and a co-ordinated PC refresh, both of which will help to enhance performance internally. IntaPeople will also be rolling out a new-look website in the near future to improve usability and encourage online engagement. IntaPeople has already increased its marketing activity substantially, and plans to continue building its profile using a range of online and offline advertising methods, and through increased PR and SEO activity. Despite a competitive environment, IntaPeople has been able to differentiate itself from other agencies in the last year, and is looking forward to forming more valued relationships over the next 12 months and beyond.
