Prestige Mobility

The company started up in a shed in founder Kevin Collinson’s back garden. Kevin had become sick of not being paid commission from past companies that he had worked for. Also, he felt that the way his previous employers had managed their companies was shocking and that a caring approach would provide a distinct market advantage. As a result, he felt he could do better and established Prestige Mobility which has become a much respected and admired mobility company and has, in its relatively short existence, become the largest direct supplier in the UK. Kevin says being number 1 in sales is important, but matching that with service is even more important. In his opinion, Prestige Mobility is good, but it still has many areas in which to excel.

Success Factor

The three main success factors for Prestige Mobility have been strong experienced management, a willingness to give youth and in-experienced staff an opportunity to develop, and the belief and drive to achieve tough targets. To seek to improve is an ever present goal and all employees in the firm strive to be better.

The Future

The main aim of the business is to grow and diversify in a bid to create further opportunities for employment within the region. Kevin believes that there is a massive amount of talent in Bangor and that all that people want is an opportunity to shine. Prestige Mobility is a proud SMART Award Winner and is keen to develop the ideas that without funding would still be a pipe dream. Also, Regional Selective Assistance has recently helped the firm to re-locate to a purpose designed facility on the Llandegai Industrial Estate and this will help Prestige jump into another league all-together.
